When you quiet your soul…

“But the Helper…the Holy Spirit will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance of things said to you.” John 14:26

Have you ever said, I know the Holy Spirit is within me, but why is it that I don’t experience His power, guidance, and comfort?

I suggest that it is because our lives are so hurried. We don’t take enough time for meditation and prayer. The Spirit of God cannot be discerned while the heart is occupied with anxiety, or the brain is filled with troubling thoughts. It is only when the water is still that it becomes translucent and reveals the ground below. 

I believe that God has allowed this shelter in place order for us to quiet out spirits in order for us to hear Him again.  We are not busy working, shopping etc.  Our lives have come to a stand still.  God wants us to take a step back and breathe… Breathe in His love, feast on His words and listen to His still small voice.  Is there something in your life He is trying to work out and you were too busy to pay attention?

Be still and know that God is within you and around you. When you quiet your soul, the unseen becomes visible and the eternal real. Dont let a day pass without silently waiting before God and allowing the Spirit to reveal himself to you.

Nothing prevents you from spending more time in quietness and solitude so the Spirit might speak to you. How might you devote more time to listening to the Spirits voice?
